England U19 1 – 0 Germany U19
All 23 players attended our England trip on Tuesday to watch England face Germany at Colchester United's Impressive Weston Homes Community Stadium. A full Phillips coach of 50 people left Woodham at 5.00 driven superbly by AFC's resident Driver and supporter 'Terry' and we arrived at the ground at 6.15pm.
The AFC followers entered the new Family Enclosure and enjoyed good food and beer in the concourses below the stands. Players and parents took to their seats in good time for the game and all the boys were in full chorus before the game singing and munching at the same time. As the players entered the pitch, the 9650 fans made a real racket, creating a good atmosphere for this U19 game. All the club members enjoyed the game in which an impressive England won 1-0.
Highlights of the night was seeing all the boys having fun together, creating the Mexican wave on numerous occasions, orchestrated by Oliver (as usual) and Jack Blenkarn entering the Colchester Club Shop wearing his Southend United Shirt. To make matters worse for Jack, brother Harry purchased a Colchester United Shirt! Tony Grisedale got the boys singing England Songs with his Trademark Football Foghorn Voice, regularly heard at the stadium.
A great evening was had by all and all for just £ 6.50 per Head!
Thank you to everyone who attended and we hope you enjoyed yourselves!
